Elijah arrives [03 Sep 2001|04:15am] [ mood | excited ] [ music | Fleetwood Mac - Little Lies ] While staying awake past the normal time I would have been going to bed, I waited for the time to come for Eli to show up. I couldn't believe he was actually coming, this was totally unplanned and last minute. I love surprises like that. While I was waiting I didn't have high hopes, just in case the plan fell though. I was wondering if any minute I would get a call from him that he couldn't get out of the house after work and had to stay home. I checked our phone messages and there were none from him, so I thought that was a good sign. As I waited I just fooled around on the net and then wrote up my journal entry for Sunday. At 2:30 AM I heard a sound outside and looked out the window. It was Eli backing up his car into our driveway. I quickly went downstairs to meet and greet him as he was walking to our door. Mom was up, too, and the two of us greeted Elijah. I showed him around the house a little bit since this is his first time here since we moved in here. Mom, Elijah, and I sat and talked for a while. At about a ¼ after three Eli and I headed upstairs to my room so we can get ready for bed, we don't want to sleep late since we only have one day. I showed him a few videos from the time he stayed with us back in 1998, we watched about ten minutes of it. Then we both got ready for bed, I got the folded up mattress from the garage and some sheets from the linen closet and set up his bed. Eli is the first person I'm having for a sleep over here in this house. By the time we got ourselves into bed it was 4:15 AM, we really had to get into bed. I looked out my window and could see some daylight starting to form in the eastern sky. I put on my Winamp playlist of 1080 songs stored here on my computer and had that play at low volume over my stereo system while we went to bed. It took us a few minutes but we fell asleep. post comment

Great day of fun with Elijah (& Alex) [03 Sep 2001|11:45pm] [ mood | excited ] Click here for pictures Elijah and I didn't sleep too long after we went to bed at 4:15 early this morning. Eli is an early riser to begin with, so I knew I didn't have to worry about us sleeping too late wasting part of our day. At 7:15 AM I woke up, I was laying on my back so when I opened my eyes I was looking straight up almost. When I woke up and opened my eyes I saw Elijah standing next to my bed and doing this funny looking dance. The music from my computer was still playing over the stereo and the current song was Michael Jackson's Beat It song. Eli was doing this funny looking black guy thing with his hands to the song, I started cracking up the second I saw it. The first thing I wake up to is Eli all peppy after only three hours of sleep and at first thing in the morning he's doing a black guy type of boogie, it was hilarious. ( Read more... ) post comment
